LUCKY players of People’s Postcode Lottery in Uxbridge were celebrating a great start to 2019 when they discovered they will win a share of £3 million.

Postcode sector UB8 2, has been announced as the winner of People’s Postcode Lottery’s coveted Postcode Millions monthly prize pot. All of the lucky locals in the postcode sector, who play with a ticket, will take home a share of the cash.

Residents will find out exactly how much they’ve won at a special event on Saturday, February 2 at The Dogs Trust in Harefield.

The Dogs Trust has received almost £10 million from the players of People’s Postcode Lottery since 2013, and the residents can’t wait to celebrate with the winners.

The full winning postcode will also be revealed at the event – those who match that postcode will receive the largest prizes.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt will be in Uxbridge to reveal the winning amounts.

Judie said: “It feels amazing to be surprising people with incredible sums of money, especially straight after Christmas. We can get their 2019 off to a great start. Even better, we get to celebrate with the winners alongside one of regularly supported charities.”

Dogs Trust West London Rehoming Centre Manager Richard Moore said: “We’re incredibly grateful to players of People’s Postcode Lottery for the funds we’ve received.

“Thanks to this boost we’ve been able to invest in more specialist staff to provide the best possible care for our dogs whilst they await new homes.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming the winners to our rehoming centre where they’ll be met with wagging tails and wet noses and get to see first hand how we go the extra miles for dogs.”

Last month, more than 643 people in St Helens shared the £3 million prize pot. Two lucky winners walked away with a top prize of over £330,000.

Sixty two per cent of postcodes in Great Britain are now registered to play, with prizes being won on a daily basis. With a minimum of 32 per cent of every ticket going to charity, players have raised over £382 million for more than 5,500 charities to date.

The Postcode millions draw will be held on behalf of Postcode Planet Trust, which funds the Zoological Society of London based at London Zoo among other great causes.
