A bouquet for poor priorities

-

WHAT with a shortage of trains on other parts of its network, TFL putting ‘flowers’ on the Heathrow Express, the company seems to be looking around for new ‘ideas’ on which to waste its cash.

Taking another example of corporate waste , the new ‘S’ type trains running on its sub-surface lines.

These trains are fitted with buttons at every door for the purpose of opening them.

The only time that these buttons are used, is while the train is sitting at the terminal stations of the line – these trains reputedly cost eight million pounds a time !

Let’s be honest, compared to the trains that they replaced, these trains have very poor heating, so why, at every other station, are all the doors flung open, along with the continual warning beeping noises , thereby letting all the heat escape from within? Pete Williams Hayes
