LANDLORDS LET FLATS FOR FREE TO FRONTLINERS
WEST London landlords have joined a scheme which allows them to lend their empty homes free of charge to NHS staff fighting coronavirus on the frontline.
South Kensington based estate agents, tlc, has facilitated the initiative to “give back to NHS staff for everything they’re doing for us right now.”
Owner of tlc estate agents, Toby Brown, told MyLondon that he and his team wanted to find a way they could help support their community right now.
“We’re a small family business and we’re all about helping the community – it’s part of our mission statement,” Mr Brown said.
He added: “We had a lot of landlords with vacant properties which aren’t going to be filled so we put an announcement out on our database and people said they’d like to help.”

Today tlc were able to drop off the first set of keys to a doctor at Royal Brompton hospital in South
Kensington. Mr Brown said the local housing will cut out long commutes for NHS staff who live far away from the areas they work in.
Mr Brown stressed that it’s the kindess of landlords such as Veronika Saprico and Gordon Kelly who have both handed over the keys to their South Kensington flats, that has made the initiative possible.
The estate agents also helped to lift spirits in the Kensington community through a live opera performance in Earls Court Square this month.
Residents were able to watch on from their windows as an opera singer joined the Thursday evening clap for the NHS with singing songs such as We’ll Meet Again and Jerusalem.
The performance, signed off by the council and Metropolitan Police was a way to keep residents hopeful and commemorate VE Day.
