IT WAS ALSO RECOGNISED AS A RESPONSIBLE WORKPLACE. THE JUDGE’S COMMENTS WERE “SAHAN CARES IS A STRONG COMPANY WITH A VISION AND STRATEGY THAT MAKES A FUNDAMENTAL DIFFERENCE TO THE LIVES OF THEIR SERVICE USERS. CARING AND PEOPLE CENTRED, SAHAN CARES HAS GROWN AND EXPANDED OVER THE YEARS WITHOUT LOSING THE QUALITIES AND BELIEFS IT HAD FROM THE START.” THE West London Business awards are hosted annually by West London Business, which represent over 800 businesses. The awards are supported and sponsored by PwC, HSBC, Brunel University, Westfield, Sergo and Heathrow.

“We are thrilled to have won the “West London Health and Wellbeing Business of the Year” and to have received a highly commended award as the “West London Company of the Year”. This is in a large measure, a result of the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our amazing and responsible carers who have worked tirelessly during the pandemic to provide a seamless and non-disruptive service to the vulnerable members of our community,” said Anab Abdalla, Founder of Sahan Cares. “The award honours them and all frontline workers up and down the country working hard to ensure we are all looked after, taken care of, and protected. I also extend my

gratitude to the rest of our staff, service users, and community partners as well who prioritised and included the principles and values of partnership working and proving that communication lines, when effective, is the difference between a good service and a great service. Congratulations to all the finalists and winners of the awards as well.”

Over the last year, Sahan Cares has also been running weekly wellbeing workshops for its carers who mainly come refugee and disadvantaged backgrounds to continuously

empower them to freely talk about their mental health concerns and receive the support they need and deserve while providing quality care service that they are proud of. The two-hour, person-centric, and culturally sensitive mental health support program is delivered by a licensed psychotherapist to keep them empowered as they transcend fear, giving others the best care amidst Covid-19.

The wellbeing workshop also tackles the vaccination disinformation spread on social media. The psychotherapist encourages the carers to openly discuss their fears and anxieties around getting vaccinated during their group sessions. This is done, so they feel free to express themselves without judgement and fear of social retribution. Through this, they are able to immerse in the full experience of dealing with their vulnerability without feeling excluded. Some carers have offered to get vaccinated realising its value and necessity. For more information, visit https://www.sahancares.co.uk
