Darius: ‘Daisy’s more than special to me’

Things are moving fast for our favourite odd couple

- LUCY VINE

They may seem an unlikely pairing, but Sheridan’s Funny Girl co-star Darius Campbell and Daisy Lowe are actually A Thing. In fact, they’re so much of A Thing that they’re planning to move in together – and have started looking for a place to rent.

“They went virtual house-hunting at the weekend,” says an insider. “They’ve been inseparable since they started dating and make a great team. Both of them are in this for the long haul, so they decided to look online at some potential properties in Primrose Hill and Little Venice. It’s exciting.”

heat revealed the random romance in June, after the pair were spotted on a date at London’s National Gallery. It quickly got serious, with the Scottish actor/singer inviting the 27-yearold model to a family wedding this summer. “They might seem like an odd couple, but they’re going from strength to strength and Darius says Daisy’s a keeper,” adds the source. “He’s said she’s ‘a little bit more than special to me’ and that she’s the ‘keeper of my heart and soul’. He’s cheesy, but he means it.”

Darius, who turned 36 last week, was best known for his appearance on 2001’s Popstars (we’ll wait here while you Youtube his rendition of Hit Me Baby One More Time), but has since reinvented himself as a West End star. And friends say he’s ready to settle down.

“Darius has hinted that Daisy is wife material, and says he won’t make the same mistakes second time round,” says our insider close to the star, who split from his wife of two years, actress Natasha Henstridge, back in 2013. And it seems Daisy – who broke up with her boyfriend of five months, musician Tom Cohen, in May – is just as smitten. The insider says, “She keeps saying how genuine he is. He never stops telling Daisy how amazing she is.”
