BEAR: FROM CBB TO TOWIE
It’s just how the reality TV roundabout works now
Love him or loathe him, Stephen Bear’s grabbed all the screen time during his stint on Celebrity Big Brother – and now his fans are gunning for him to join his Essex mates as a member of the TOWIE cast.
One viewer tweeted, “Odds on Bear being on TOWIE next year” while another CBB fan wrote, “I reckon get Bear on TOWIE when BB is done.”
And we can reveal that Bear himself is keen to join the cast, with a source adding, “He’d be amazing on TOWIE, and would add plenty of drama to Essex.” A second source close to the star adds, “Bear would sell his left arm to be on it – he wants to stay relevant as long as he can.”
Speaking to heat, a TOWIE insider says, “For us to consider a new character, they’d have to be relevant to the storylines. They’d have to know the characters already on the show and it has to be a natural relationship.”
And he ticks those boxes: Bear, 26, is good friends with former
Love Island contestant and new TOWIE star Jon Clark, as well as Joey Essex. He was also on
Ex On The Beach with current Essex queen Megan Mckenna, giving him a perfect connection to the show. Bear even appeared in the background of the firstever episode of TOWIE in 2010.
Of course, the show’s not averse to a little reality crossover. Love
Island winners Nathan Massey and Cara De La Hoyde’s recent appearance was a hit, and new girl Megan has fast become one of the most popular faces after joining in January following her own CBB stint.
And just as Megan’s romance with Pete Wicks helped cement her a place on TOWIE, Bear’s flirtation with current cast member Chloe Sims – who showed her support for him by tweeting, “I absolutely love Bear, he cracks me up”– could help secure him a spot on the show.
