With Aidan and Maria getting even closer, when will Eva smell a rat?
You’ve got to feel sorry for Eva. The ditzy blonde’s been trying her best to befriend mopey Maria for ages, not realising the ungrateful cow’s repaid her kindness by sleeping with her boyfriend Aidan. And next week things are set to get even more awkward for the Street’s love triangle, when Eva literally forces Aidan into Maria’s arms.
Having been accused of crazy Caz’s murder, Maria freaks out that there’s someone lurking in her flat. And, when she finds blood on her work scissors planted in her bag, Eva sends Aidan to protect her. Yes, really. Here, Catherine Tyldesley explains why...
Why on earth is Eva helping Maria out so much?
Eva’s trying to fill the space that was left when Kylie passed away. Also, she’s got the man of her dreams and, ironically, she wants to find Maria someone as good as her Aidan.
In her mind, are she and Aidan really loved-up?
Yeah – Aidan is her Prince Charming.
How does she react when she finds out about the bloodied scissors?
Eva is a very strong character, so she goes into Lady Macbeth mode: “Get rid, hide them.” She keeps her cool and they agree to put them in the bin. She genuinely believes that it’s the end of that situation.
So, why does she suggest that Aidan stays with Maria?
Eva can see Maria’s scared. She’s living alone with Liam and she hasn’t got a man, so as a friend, she feels he should stay and look after her.
She must really trust him…
She trusts him completely and that’s a massive leap for Eva. She’s been cheated on so many times, which makes me feel even more sorry for her.
Do you think you would have sussed Aidan out by now?
Yes, I think I would. Eva lives in a bubble, but I’m very good at reading body language, so I would have twigged. To her, everything is all fairy dust and unicorns.
What would you like her to do when she finds out about the pair of them?
I have a feeling she’ll get revenge on both of them, but I think she’ll really gun for Maria. We might even see a little cat fight…i’d love that! I think Maria deserves a kick up the backside.
Who would win between you?
I think Eva would be so angry and filled with rage. I mean, this is it for her. I can see her really losing the plot over this.
