We reckon this series is one of the show’s best, offering up more than the required dose of extreme violence, shocking developments and air-punching thrills. It does, after all, boast a large scale skirmish called “The Battle Of The Bastards”, and you can’t argue with something called that. Interestingly, this year saw GOT start to deviate from George RR Martin’s books, but when the results are this good, we can only applaud such behaviour. HHHHH Jason Arnopp

How To Get Away With Murder Season 2 DVD, OUT MONDAY 14 NOVEMBER

Viola Davis returns to deliver another Emmy worthy performance as defence lawyer Annalise Keating, who teaches criminal law at a university. She also takes the very unusual step of getting her students mixed up in real murder plots, including covering up the odd killing. While series one dealt with the murders of Annalise’s husband and his mistress, this time two new cases help to provide the show’s multiple flashbacks, flash-forwards and seriously twisty twists. Poldark Series 2 DVD/BLU-RAY, OUT NOW

The period drama remake that’s became a cultural phenomenon ratcheted up the tension is this ten-episode second series, with Ross Poldark’s controversial betrayal of his wife Demelza with old love Elizabeth. Plus, there was more action, emotional ups and downs and a few shots of Aidan Turner’s famous chest while mining to keep all viewers happy. Roll on series three! HHHHH Boyd Hilton

Looking: The Complete Series & Movie DVD/BLU-RAY, OUT MONDAY 14 NOVEMBER

All 18 episodes of the first two seasons, and the feature-length finale of the HBO comedy drama following the lives and loves of three gay men in San Francisco. Patrick (Jonathan Groff), Augustin (Frankie J Alvarez) and Dom (Murray Bartlett) are best friends who help each other navigate their way through life.
