VICKY VS CHARLOTTE: RACE UP THE AISLE
They both want to get hitched. But who’ll get there first?
We all know the score: you get to a certain age and suddenly it feels like everyone is getting married – and your nan’s constant badgering doesn’t help. Well, imagine that scenario, but in the celeb world, where a couple meets, gets hitched and signs the divorce papers before we’ve even finished our morning Coco Pops.
So, we can totally see why Charlotte Crosby and Vicky Pattison are already planning their weddings… despite neither of them actually being engaged. But now the long-time rivals are in a race to the aisle, and neither one is blinking until someone says, “I do, pet.”
Speaking exclusively to heat last week, alongside her boyfriend Stephen Bear, Charlotte, 27, rubbished the idea that her former Geordie Shore co-star Vicky would get married before her, insisting, “I think we’ll be the first people from MTV to get married.” The star, who has been loved-up with Bear since meeting on the set of Just Tattoo Of Us at the end of last year, says she and Bear are “building an empire” and have big plans. “We have lots of things in the bag,” she said. “We do everything together… we could teach some couples a lesson.” One couple Char might be referring to is Vicky, 29, and her boyfriend, businessman John Noble. A source close to the stars tells us that, while Charlotte used to look up to Vicky, “these days, they are massive rivals”.
“Charlotte does want to beat Vicky up the aisle,” we’re told. “When Charlotte won
Celebrity Big Brother in 2013, it made her the most successful girl from Geordie Shore. But then Vicky did I’m A Celeb and outdid her. And now she has a lucrative TV career as
a presenter, which is Charlotte’s dream.”
Vicky, meanwhile, hasn’t stopped gushing about her relationship since she hooked up with John last November, saying last week, “John is the first man who has stimulated my mind and body… I don’t know how I survived without him.” As for wedding plans, she revealed, “I love him dearly, so whenever he’s ready, he knows where I am!”
Tension has been building between Charlotte and Vicky for a long time, but the rivalry worsened when Charlotte went public with Bear, who Vicky dated in 2015 and called “vile and horrendous”. The friend adds, “Vicky slags Bear off in public, too, which really pisses Charlotte off. She gets defensive about him.” In March, Charlotte told heat she hadn’t seen her former friend for a while, but was expecting an awkward encounter. “I don’t even know what I would say to Vicky now,” she admitted.
With both girls more in love than ever, the race to get hitched is well and truly on and, while Charlotte reckons she’ll be first, our insider says she can “100 per cent see John proposing to Vicky”.
