Jess’ night with Mike: what really happened
So, did she or didn’t she? heat investigates…
Forget Romeo and Juliet: last week, it was all about Jessica Shears and Dom Lever. The star-crossed Love Islanders were cruelly torn apart when Jess was voted out of the villa, leaving her bed-mate crying on his knees. But a day later, as we watched Dom, 26, choking on his tears (seriously, at one point he couldn’t speak), reports came in that Jess had spent that same night in bed with fellow evictee Mike Thalassitis.
A source claimed to a newspaper, “Jess and Mike fancied the pants off each other. They had separate rooms, but the sexual chemistry between them was too much – one thing led to another and they spent the night in bed together.” Oh dear, Dom. While Jess denied it, Mike, 24, simply responded “no comment”.
According to insiders, the story was actually sparked by Mike, who apparently told someone at the airport that he’d slept with Jess. The rumours gathered pace when eagle-eared viewers pointed out that the model appears to whisper, “Let’s go back and f**k,” to Mike at the end of their eviction episode. We’ve listened to it (a lot) and can say, while not entirely conclusive, it does sound a bit dodge. So, what to believe?
“I got the impression from Mike’s side that it did happen,” an ITV insider tells us. “But it’s probably a better story for him than it is for her. I wouldn’t know who to believe. They did spend that night in the same villa, but had separate rooms. If I found out it’d happened, I wouldn’t be shocked.”
Yet, when heat spoke to Jess just hours after they apparently did the deed (but before the story broke), she appeared to have only Dom on her mind, and insisted she’ll be waiting for him. “Saying goodbye was heartbreaking,” she told us. “He is the most incredible guy I’ve ever met. If I’m the perfect girl for him, I’m over the moon – that’s ideally what I want. I don’t think he’ll meet someone else in the villa. What we have is so real and rare. I can’t wait for him to come out.”
She added, “Me and Dom both said we weren’t on the show to play games, but to make real connections – which I think we found. I’d do anything to be back in the villa and go to sleep with him.”
Curiouser and curiouser. But with all the uncertainty, one thing’s for sure: if the rumours are true, Dom will feel like a right mug for putting all his eggs in Jess’ basket. n CHARLOTTE OLIVER
