Brad’s Father’s Day ruined
He’s left alone as Ange takes the kids away with her
Celeb social media was bursting with parental pride last week, as A-list dads shared snaps of themselves and their kids enjoying Father’s Day together. But Brad Pitt found himself celebrating alone, after Angelina Jolie made the last-minute decision to fly to Ethiopia with their six children. After reports that the estranged couple were putting their differences aside, it seems that things may have once again turned sour. “Brad was looking forward to spendingFather’s Day with the kids, but Angelina changed her plans,” a source close to the actor tells heat. “She told him that a work trip came up and she had to take the children with her. Needless to say, Brad was very disappointed. He begged her to change her mind, but she refused. Brad ended up flying to France with a friend.” The actress has had custody of Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 11, and twins Vivienne and Knox, eight, ever since she filed for divorce last September, with Brad, 53, beinggranted weekly, supervised visits. Relations between them were said to be better, and although some reports claimed Brad saw a number of the children before they left the US, our insider says 42-yearold Ange’s decision to whisk the kids away on what was Brad’s first Father’s Day without them was a low blow. “Both Brad and Angie have been good about not putting the kids in the middle of their issues, but her decision to go abroad was upsetting for him,” our source tells us. “Hethought that they were in a good place and handling the divorce proceedings well. But with Angelina, you never know what she’s going to do next.” There’s no doubt that pictures showing Ange and the children flying out of LAX will have been particularly upsetting for Brad, who has fought to keep their custody battle out of the public eye. In December,he succeeded in petitioning an LA judge to seal all records relating to custody, in the interest of protecting their children’s privacy. According to insiders, the actor is still prepared to put up a fight for more access. “Unfortunately, Angelina still has sole custody of the kids, so she has the final say on what they do,” our source says. “Brad is just waiting for his day in court.”
