Beyoncé and Jay Z aren’t sparing ANY expense when it comes to their new twins

Only the best will do for the latest additions to the Carter family

We can all start getting on with our lives again, as – after what seemed like an eternity – Beyoncé finally gave birth to her twins. And those babies, a boy and a girl, are already living the absolute dream.

They made their arrival two weeks ago in the finest surroundings, as Beyoncé and husband Jay Z took over an entire level of Los Angeles’ renowned UCLA hospital, at a colossal $100,000 a night. “To keep Beyoncé as secure as possible, they rented out one floor of the maternity ward. They cleared everyone out and bought in all their own staff. Even the receptionists were hand-picked by Bey and Jay,” heat’s source reveals. “It’s very unusual for anyone to call the shots like that at a hospital, but they wanted the best for the twins and they’ve got enough money to make anything happen.”

And, according to our source, it was more like a five-star hotel than a hospital – they had their own private chef and Jay managed to squeeze in time for a massage. Kind of. “The rooms they got didn’t look anything like a typical hospital. The floor they took over has the building’s VIP maternity suites.

“There are flatscreen TVS, mini fridges, and high-end sofas and armchairs. Jay even had a bunch of massage chairs brought in, so that visitors could sit with Beyoncé in total comfort,” our source continues. “They had their personal chef making food for everyone. Normally the VIP suites come with a special menu, but Jay Z and Beyoncé brought their guy with them and installed him in the hospital kitchen.”

As expected, they’ve also been inundated with gifts from excited friends and family, including the Obamas. Our source says, “Once the twins arrived, the well-wishes and gifts started flooding in. There were vases of flowers and balloons all over the place. There were so many bouquets, the place smelled like a florist, and they received so many huge packages and gifts, they started to run out of places to put them. Michelle and Barack Obama sent a gift basket.” We’re told presents included designer outfits, cashmere Babygros, Tiffany jewellery and gold-plated rattles.

While the proud mum and dad are naturally besotted with the new arrivals, we’re told big sister Blue Ivy is feeling a little put out (who can blame her? She’s been number one for the past five years). With Bey and the twins remaining in hospital for some time after the birth – reportedly receiving treatment for jaundice after being born prematurely – Blue was being looked after by her granny, Tina, and aunt, Solange.

“Jay has been great with Blue, and Bey’s mum has been there as well, looking after her. But it was still hard for Blue to understand why her mummy wasn’t coming home each night,”

our insider says. “She was really excited about the babies before they were born, but now they’re here, there’s a little bit of jealousy. It’s been tough having her mum in hospital. Fortunately, Solange has been there to help out a lot and she’s always great with Blue. She’s been a rock throughout this whole pregnancy, actually – she was in the delivery room with Bey along with Jay and Tina.”

And Bey may need her mum and sister more than ever, as we’re told Jay is just like us regular humans and will only be taking two weeks’ paternity leave from work. The star has his latest album to promote, as well as playing many festivals over the summer, including V Festival. Thankfully (unlike regular humans), he’s got his own private jet and can fly back home every few days.

Our source says, “Bey thought he might postpone his album and cancel the gigs. He’s promised to fly back every two or three days, saying he can sleep on the jet and be present when he’s home, and he’s already pushed back some promo for the album, but he can’t pull out of the live dates. He knows that with her mum and Solange and all the help they have, Bey will be fine without him for a few days.”

Home for the twins’ first few months will be a $33million rented mansion in the Hollywood Hills, which was previously owned by Madonna. And, we’re told, Beyoncé and Jay are currently looking for a permanent residence in LA, after deciding that’s where they’ll raise their family – although they still have homes in New York and New Orleans in case they, y’know, fancy a change.

Before they were born, Bey and Jay spent a cool $500,000 fitting out the twins’ nurseries, to include matching cribs and rockers, a $50,000 state-of-the-art sound system, walk-in wardrobes, a $20,000 ceiling mural and a movie theatre. Because that’s what all newborn babies need. And once they’re settled at home, an influx of A-list pals will no doubt descend to coo over the new babies.

“Only a few people were invited to see Beyoncé and the twins in hospital, close friends like Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and also Gwyneth Paltrow,” heat’s source reveals. “Beyoncé hasn’t been up to seeing anyone except their very closest family and friends. She and Jay really just want to soak up this special moment – they’re both over the moon.” n KATE RANDALL
