A week at her fave spa has worked wonders
She’s one of the world’s most iconic supermodels, but it looks as if Kate Moss has the same body hang-ups as the rest of us – she just happens to have the time and money to sort them out very quickly.
Earlier this month, Kate checked into her favourite detox retreat, The Lifeco in Turkey, in order to lose a few pounds ahead of a big photo shoot, and took her BFF Sadie Frost and new British Vogue editor Edward Enninful along for the ride. “Kate goes three or four times a year when she needs to recharge her batteries, get herself ‘centred’, and lose a bit of weight before a photo shoot,” a friend tells heat. “The last time she went was right before her last Vogue cover, and the fact that she took Edward with her suggests she’s gearing up for another one. [Her boyfriend] Nikolai didn’t go with them, as he’s done it before, and it’s not really for him.” We’re told Kate spent around a week there and fully immersed herself into the lifestyle. “She drinks black tea every morning by the pool in a bikini and sticks strictly to their detox plan,” our insider says. “It includes bentonite clay drinks, wheatgrass shots, Himalayan salt shots, cryotherapy saunas, infrared saunas, and four to five selfadministered colonics.” Lovely.
Kate, 43, also had daily 15-minute oxygen sessions – where she breathed pure oxygen through a mask – which is said to help reverse the effect of smoking (and we all know she loves a fag).
Although she stuck to the plan, once the detox was completed, we’re told Kate headed to party resort Bodrum for a night out, which she does every time, before flying home. The friend adds, “The first thing Kate does is order a lamb mince pizza and get back
on the booze – which, after a week of detoxing, can hit her hard.” Of course, the retreat doesn’t come cheap – it’s around £2,000 a week – but treatments promise to improve skin tone, get rid of bloatedness and cellulite and boost your metabolism. A nd judging by how great Kate looked on a recent night out, we can see why she’s such a fan.
