VICKY: ‘I’ll never be 100% happy with my body’
But she is totally OK with that…
Vicky Pattison is beaming when we meet to discuss her new gig as the face – and body – of Ann Summers. She tells heat that, after seeing her weight fluctuate since 2013, when she lost 3st, she’s now learnt to accept her body and wants to encourage women of all shapes to feel proud in their own skin. diamond ring… Why is body confidence so important to you ? We spend so much time dragging ourselves and other women down. It’s taken me 30 years to come to terms with who I am and not be chasing this unrealistic, Bella Hadid-style frame. I’ve got curves and I’m proud of that. I want other women to be the same . Are you happy with how you look now? We always put pressure on ourselves, but I’ve let up a little. I don’t look in the mirror and 100 per cent love everything about me, but the percentage is a lot higher than it was last year. There are days when you don’t feel sexy, but put on a good bra and knickers, get a gorgeous outfit on, look in the mirror and see something you like. How does it feel having strangers comment on your body? It’s frustrating, because I was under the impression that I bring a lot more to the table. But, as women, we have to deal with it. I don’t want young lasses being obsessed with numbers – it’s more important to love yourself from within. I’m trying to live me life and be content in me own skin, all boobs and bum. Has being with fiancé John boosted your confidence? Yeah, he makes us feel so loved and confident – I’ve never had that before. He’s the boyfriend I want to wear sexy underwear for, because he loves me anyway. One night, I did try and put on something sexy for him, but I took too long fannying about, so when I came out the bathroom, he’d fallen asleep. I was like, “You best get up, I ain’t shaved for nothing!” You’ve just got engaged – would you consider doing a Newlyweds-style reality show? I wouldn’t say no, actually. The nation has seen the journey I’ve been on in terms of my love life, so it would be a nice way to finish – to show that I’ve really found happiness.
