Kate bonds with Rio’s kids

The coy couple share loved-up pics on Insta

-

They’ve kept their relationship well under wraps ever since the rumours began late last year. But it looks like Rio Ferdinand and Kate Wright are finally ready to go public, after both posting a series of happy family snaps to Instagram from their recent holiday in Portugal.

First up was former TOWIE star Kate, 26, who posted a pic of herself enjoying a beachside lunch with Rio’s three sisters, alongside the caption, “Lunch with the girls.” The famously private footballer then followed this by sharing a picture of himself and Kate enjoying drinks by the pool with various members of his family.

But it was Kate’s most recent snap that proved just how close the couple have become, as she posted another smiling photo of herself next to Rio’s sisters, while carrying his six-year-old daughter Tia in her arms. The caption read, “The girlies and one sleepy.” And although Rio’s sons – Tate, ten, and Lorenz, eight – were not in the pictures, the boys were on holiday with them, too.

This latest flurry of loved-up pics is a big step for the pair, who were only pictured together in public for the first time in early July, having lunch in London. Rio, 38, had been spotted leaving Kate’s Essex flat in March and June, but the couple had made a big effort to avoid the paps. Their relationship was said to be getting increasingly serious – especially when Kate quit

TOWIE in April, supposedly to protect her relationship with Rio. But the fact that she seems so happy and relaxed with his family is testament to how strong their feelings have become for one another.

This is Rio’s first relationship since his wife – and mother of his kids – Rebecca Ellison died in 2015 from breast cancer aged just 34. No doubt his 2.4m Insta followers will be delighted to see that Kate is giving the former footballer, and his family, a reason to smile again.
