IS BRAD SET TO LOSE CUSTODY BATTLE?
It’s looking as if Ange will get the kids
Ever since they announced their shock split a year ago, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been at loggerheads over the custody of their six children. But now it seems they may finally have sorted things out (well, their expensive lawyers have), and sources say it’s not looking too good for Brad.
“Brad had wanted shared custody of the children, but it’s looking increasingly likely Ange may have them full-time, and he will get ‘reasonable’ visitation rights,” says heat’s insider. “Brad had wanted them to spend 50 per cent of their time at his house with him. But Ange feels it would be fairer on the kids if they’re based at one home full-time, and get to have regular time with Brad. Brad understands this, although, of course, it’s a difficult time.”
While he’s upset, Brad, 53, knows the situation could have been a lot worse. He admitted he had a problem with alcohol in an interview earlier this year, and was also investigated by the FBI – but later cleared – after an incident with eldest son Maddox, 16, on a private jet.
“Originally, Ange wanted sole legal custody, which would have given her total control over all aspects of the children’s lives,” explains the insider. “But Brad has worked hard these past few months to clean up his act, stay sober, and get fit and healthy. The kids mean so much to him, so, of course, it will hurt if he can’t see them every day.” This means that Ange and Brad will have to work together and co-parent the Jolie-pitt brood – we foresee a LOT of awkward chats. n
