Jamie and Louise’s tense family holiday

Jamie hoped for a perfect getaway. He didn’t get it

-

Just weeks after heat reported that Jamie Redknapp had begged his estranged wife Louise to go on a family holiday to try and rebuild their marriage, it seems that his pleas have fallen on deaf ears.

Rather than enjoying time in the sun together with their sons Charley, 13, and Beau, eight, Jamie took the boys off to Portugal on his own, before an awkward handover with Louise, who took over for the second half of the trip.

“After everything they’ve been through in the past year, Jamie had wanted them to spend the summer holidays together as a family, to show Louise what fun they could have together, and what she would be missing out on,” explains heat’s source. “But she wasn’t interested. Obviously, she wanted a holiday with the boys, but she didn’t want to be there with Jamie.

“Although Jamie and Louise are quite amicable, it was still a tense handover,” our source adds. “Jamie is determined to win her back, but she’s happy with her life at the moment. She just wanted to enjoy the holiday with the boys, and not worry about the future.”

Naturally, this left Jamie bitterly disappointed. “Jamie is doing everything he can to win her back – he really misses them being a family unit and just wants her home. He was certain that if he could’ve convinced her to come on holiday with them, their problems would’ve been sorted, and they could start afresh. He’s said he thought it was just a phase Louise was going through, and that she would soon come back. But now he’s worried that she’s moved on for good.”

As heat previously told you, Louise, 42, is embracing her new single life, enjoying nights out with close friend Daisy Lowe and a career revival since she finished as runner-up on last year’s Strictly. The star – who’s about to start touring the musical Cabaret – is hoping to put any decisions about her future with Jamie on hold for the moment.

“Louise knew that if she went on holiday with Jamie, he would want to discuss what’s happening with them as a couple, and she doesn’t feel ready for that at the moment,” heat’s insider adds. “Once she’s back in the UK, she’ll be focused on Cabaret, using that as her distraction. Her children will always come first, but she needs to do what’s right for her and her happiness as well.”n
