The singer is desperate to add to her family
he may have three young boys to look after, but clearly that hasn’t put Gwen Stefani off having any more children, as heat’s been told she’s desperate for a daughter to add to her brood. However, Gwen’s plans to have another baby have hit a stumbling block, because her boyfriend of two years, Blake Shelton, 41, isn’t quite so keen, despite him being a very hands-on stepdad.
“Gwen feels that it’s make or break for her and Blake right now,” an insider reveals. “The fact is, she’s desperate to have a baby girl and she thinks it’s now or never, but Blake has always been hesitant about having kids. Gwen thinks that having a child with Blake would secure their relationship and make them more of a family, but she also doesn’t want to push him into something he doesn’t want to do.
“At the same time, it hasn’t stopped her from continually dropping hints or bringing it up in conversation. She’s also told Blake that he’s not getting any younger, and that he should take the plunge or risk forever regretting it.”
Gwen, 47, has sons Kingston, 11, Zuma, nine, and Apollo, three, with ex Gavin Rossdale, and feels the time is right for her to have the girl she’s always dreamed of. “Although Gwen herself is in her late forties, she’s never felt healthier or fitter. She does a lot of acupuncture treatments, which are said to help boost your fertility chances, and Gwen doesn’t have any doubt that she could get pregnant one way or another. And while she’d be over the moon if she had a girl, all she really wants is a healthy baby,” says our insider. “But waiting any longer, even a year more, scares her, because she wants to be around for her children as they get older. Gwen absolutely adores her three boys, they’re all extremely well-adjusted and even they have said to their mum that they’d love a little baby sister. They’ve picked it up from Gwen, of course, because it’s all she’s been talking about these last few years.”
