The Islander speaks out on Chris’ ‘cheating’ scandal
Last week was a bad one for one of our favourite Love Island couples. After Chris Hughes was pictured with his arms around a woman who was definitely not girlfriend Olivia Attwood, the 24 year old made a grovelling public statement, telling fans he’d drunkenly “put my arms around a stranger, which I should never have done… but nothing escalated, as it never would.”
Speaking to heat a few hours after the incident with Chris – who is also reported to have kissed the girl – came to light, Olivia told us she was struggling to process her thoughts. “I don’t even know what to say, to be honest,” she said. “There’s a lot of work to be done.”
But despite the uncertainty, Olivia, 26, was still happy to reveal their plans for Christmas, including the age-old dilemma of what to buy BAE. “He keeps saying, ‘Oh, I’ve started shopping,’” she says. “I’m like, ‘But what are we doing? One big present for each other or lots of little presents?’ He doesn’t answer me! But you need to be on the same page.”
Naturally, she’s been far clearer about her dream stocking-filler, revealing, “I’ve already asked him for a Shetland pony.” Meanwhile, Olivia’s fellow
Love Islander Amber tells us she’s most looking forward to Christmas “family time” – especially as her entire brood are joining Kem’s family in Essex. “Me and Kem are so busy, so it’ll be nice to have everyone there,” she says.
As for Olivia and Chris’ drama, Amber knows what it’s like to handle constant public scrutiny. “You’ve just got to let it go, really,” she says. “Since the villa, some articles have said we’re on the rocks.
