Kylie is about to hit the big 5-0 and she isn’t happy about it

Our favourite pop rocket turns 50 in May next year – but rather than planning an epic celebration, Kylie is wishing she could turn back time. Not because Ms Minogue is worried about her looks – let’s face it, she’s barely aged since 1989 – but because she thought she’d be a wife and mum by this stage in her life, and feels she’s further away from that than ever, following her split from Joshua Sasse earlier this year.
“Kylie doesn’t want to talk about her 50th. She’s a little sensitive about it. And after the year she’s had, it’s kind of understandable,” an insider close to the singer tells heat. “She had thought, finally, Joshua was The One, but it was another failed relationship. She felt it was kind of her last chance of having a baby with a man, rather than doing it on her own.”
We’re told that the singer, who’s auntie to brother Brendan’s son Charles, 11, and sister Dannii’s son Ethan, seven, hasn’t ruled out having a baby by herself, but her birthday milestone reminds her that the clock is ticking.
Kylie called off her engagement to British actor Joshua, 29, in February amid allegations he’d cheated. They had been together since summer 2015, with head-over-heels Kyles frequently gushing about her love for him. Now single again, it seems like the singer is properly in denial about the big 5-0. “She’s been asked what she wants to do for her birthday, but she keeps jokily avoiding talking about it by saying, ‘What 50th?’” we’re told.
The insider adds, “She has mixed feelings about ageing. She stopped with the Botox, but while some days she embraces her lines, other days she hates them.”
But it’s not all birthday gloom for the singer – she has big career plans for the next decade. “Kylie really wants to work more in acting in her fifties. That’s the only time she’s acknowledged the fact that she’s nearing her birthday. She says they will be all about TV projects and maybe even a film.”
