Posh’s perfect weekend with David Beckham was a flop. And then he was pictured cosying up to Bella Hadid
Her romantic plans with David didn’t live up to the hype
Spending quality time together as a couple is something that’s quite rare for David and Victoria Beckham these days, thanks to their busy careers, four kids and often not even being in the same country as each other. So, it’s no surprise Victoria was looking forward to a romantic weekend in New York with her hot husband. Except it seems she didn’t really get her wish, as we’re told the break was a bit of a letdown. She then had to see pictures of David enjoying a night out with a supermodel days later. Not ideal.
“Vic had been really excited about going away as it’s so rare for her and David to get a weekend together,” our source says. “They chose New York, as [eldest son] Brooklyn is based there at the moment and it was his 19th birthday, so they wanted to see him. But Vic spent most of her time there on her own or with Brooklyn, as David had to work. He did manage to make Brooklyn’s birthday meal, and although she understands David has a lot of work commitments at the moment, Vic couldn’t help but feel let down because she didn’t see that much of him.”
As heat s’s told you before, the couple – who also have children Romeo, 15, Cruz, 13, and six-year-old Harper – will be struggling to see a lot of each other, as David, 42, launches his own football franchise in Miami. Vic, 43, will stay in London with the kids and fly them out during school holidays. We’re told she’s sometimes questioned whether they will be able to survive this, and she knows how important it is for them to see each other and do romantic things whenever they get the opportunity.
“Now the kids are older, Victoria thought she and David would be able to have more weekends away, but that’s all changed now David’s football team have been given the go-ahead,” our insider continues. “His money and reputation are at stake, so he has to drop everything to go to Miami whenever he’s needed. Both of them had
wanted to spend more time in New York and do lots of romantic things, but they didn’t have as much time as they wanted. Vic loved the time they did spend together, and she’s hoping they can do it again later in the year, but she knows how hard it will be with all the other stuff they have going on.”
Earlier this year, we revealed that Posh was really making an effort to spice things up and have more fun with David. Now, we’re told, “She’s started to clear some dates in his diary to take him on a weekend away, where they can have some alone time. Vic wants to surprise him and whisk him off somewhere exotic, where they can really enjoy each other’s company as well as reconnect as a couple,” our source explained. “In addition to that, she’s also trying to implement more date nights for them. She’s found that, with everything going on in their careers, when they do come together at the end of the day, they’re sometimes too tired to do anything fancy. But Vic is adamant that they’re going to be more spontaneous this year and dine out together whenever they can. She’s told David that they need to start having cocktail hour when they’re done with all their work for the day as they both love to unwind with a drink.”
After the disappointing weekend, things only got worse for Posh as David then flew out to Paris, where he was pictured looking quite flirty with Bella Hadid, chatting and laughing together – with her touching his back at one point. He was in France for an Adidas launch and a Paris Saint Germain (a club he used to play for) match, where he was sat next to the 21-year-old model. Fans seemed to think they were getting on very well, especially in contrast to the distance between David and Victoria when they were pictured in New York together, with David striding ahead in front of her. One online commentator said, “They should just get it on,” while another wrote, “He looks a bit too delighted to see her.”
While there is no suggestion anything went on between David and Bella, any speculation must have hurt Victoria as Bella is regarded as one of the world’s most beautiful women. “Of course, Victoria trusts David, but she can’t stand all the speculation and finds it humiliating,” we’re told. “Things aren’t that easy for them at the moment and sometimes she wishes David wouldn’t put himself in these situations, although she knows it can’t always be helped. As she has said openly, Vic can be quite insecure about her looks and getting older, and incidents like this just enhance that. She still has her worries about how much David’s move will impact their marriage and family life, and the last thing she needs is dealing with the speculation these pictures can cause.”
