‘Give up your dream for us’

There’s trouble in paradise for the transatlantic couple

Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan may look the pictureperfect couple – but after Michelle confirmed she’s “not an LA woman”, it seems their marriage may be struggling. Insiders tell us that Michelle’s told her husband of nearly three years he may have to give up his American dream, as they can’t go on living like this.

While Uk-based Michelle regularly visits Mark in LA, where he’s been presenting on Extra since September, last week she revealed her reluctance to move out there permanently. In a telling interview, the Our Girl star admitted, “I’m auditioning for work out in LA... but it has to be something I want to do. I’ve held out for really good parts on British television and I love working here.” By contrast, she revealed Mark, 30, was having a blast in his new life, saying, “Mark absolutely loves LA. He says it’s like Essex with bells on.”

Our source tells us, “Michelle says everything is fine between them, but the reality is she’s spending more time apart from Mark than she would like. He’s coming back to the UK to cover the royal wedding soon, but he hasn’t even been able to give her his full work schedule yet, so she’s not sure how much they’re going to see of each other. Michelle thinks it’s ridiculous, considering they’re a married couple. It seems as though every month there’s another big showbiz event that Mark is preparing for.” We’re hearing that the former

TOWIE star is keen to take Extra up on their offer of an extension to his one-year contract – but Michelle worries their marriage could suffer. Our insider says, “Seeing him have the time of his life on Instagram while she’s been working in England has made her feel like they’re living completely different lives at times. Michelle wants them to always put the marriage first. She needs Mark to accept they need to work at their marriage. If Michelle doesn’t get a job in America within the next six months, he’ll need to move back to the UK or risk putting a strain on their marriage.”

Mark has previously said, “If Michelle didn’t like living here, I would go back. She would never say that, but my marriage comes first.”

Well, you might need to start packing your bags, Mark, as your wife said last week, “I do love LA. It’s so easy to be healthy and happy there. But I’m a northern girl. I miss my family. It’s just not me, I’m not an LA woman.”
