When will she get that ring?
She’s been with boyfriend Alex Rodriguez for over a year now (which is basically a decade in the showbiz world), and we all know how much Jennifer Lopez likes a wedding. However, while J-LO is obviously super-keen to get hitched, we’re hearing that the sports star is a little more reluctant – and it’s led to a few arguments between the ridiculously good-looking couple.
Apparently, it all started last month, when Jennifer released the Spanish song El Anillo, which translates as The Ring, containing lyrics such as “When will I get a ring?”
“Alex felt there were some not-sosubtle hints,” our insider explains. “He had no choice but to say he liked her song –if he’d said he didn’t, it would be the end of them, and he doesn’t want that. But Alex isn’t looking to rush things. He’s just not ready to get married again and it’s causing tension.”
But J-LO doesn’t share A-rod’s trepidation. The 48-year-old singer has already been married three times – to Ojani Noa, for a year, in 1997; to Cris Judd, in 2001, for two years; and to Marc Anthony, father of her ten-yearold twins Max and Emme, from 2004-2011 – and is keen to sashay up the aisle a fourth time.
Former baseball player A-rod was married to psychology graduate Cynthia Scurtis for six years, and the couple have two children, Natasha, 14, and Ella, nine. After a bitter divorce – with rumours of affairs plaguing A-rod – our source tells us the 42 year old isn’t sure if he wants to become a husband again.
“He fears that, since his first marriage didn’t work out, maybe any marriage with him won’t and that living together just works better. There isn’t the pressure of that piece of paper. It’s messed up a lot of celebrity marriages. Alex just isn’t ready. He’s not saying no, but he doesn’t see the rush.”
While that all sounds very sensible, we don’t think J-LO will let him get away with that excuse for much longer.
