KATIE TURNS 40... AND CELEBRATES WITH DIVORCE PARTY
She’s in no mood to celebrate turning the big 4-0
She’s had a crappy year, after claiming that husband Kieran Hayler had cheated on her again and mum Amy being diagnosed with a terminal lung disease. So, unsurprisingly, Katie Price is in no mood to celebrate. The reality star might be about to hit 40, but, according to insiders, she’s refusing to mark the big day – and would rather celebrate her impending divorce.
“Katie is threatening to call off her 40th altogether as she’s miserable,” a source close to the star, whose birthday is on 22 May, tells heat. “She says she doesn’t feel like there’s anything to celebrate. She’s blaming Kieran and now she’d rather throw a party to celebrate her divorce from him than mark getting old.”
Last week, it was all but confirmed that Katie and Kieran had split for good – the former model was spotted out partying in Essex alongside
Love Island star Rykard Jenkins, while Kieran was said to be staying put in their Surrey home as a glorified nanny. But, as much as the mum of five has tried to embrace her old party lifestyle, there’s no denying her stock has fallen in recent years, as reality TV has become saturated with fresher stars. And, despite undergoing even more cosmetic surgery – most recently, another facelift in March – the star is feeling past it. This hasn’t been helped by the fact that, while clubs used to fight to host her parties, these days the offers have dried up.
Our source explains, “Katie doesn’t generate the right kind of attention for clubs to want to throw parties for her like they did in the old days. They want Love
Island and Geordie Shore celebs. She doesn’t have the status she once had, but she still expects everything for free.”
Now, with her marriage all but over and days to go until she hits the big 4-0, Katie’s saying her priority is spending time with her kids and mum Amy, who was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis last year. We’re told she’s telling friends she’ll likely be, “Spending the day in bed or might even be working.”
Let’s hope she gets that divorce do sorted soon.
