TENSION OVER DAVID’S PARTYING IN MIAMI
Over the past 20 years, Posh and Becks have weathered a hell of a lot as a couple – but this latest drama could be their marriage’s toughest challenge yet. As David Beckham officially starts his new life in Miami, 4,400 miles away from his wife and family, insiders say Victoria is struggling to cope and they’re worried that this situation is her “worst nightmare”, especially as he’s been seen out partying and pictured with female fans.
“Victoria always knew the move was going to happen, but the reality of it has only just started to hit home,” says an insider close to the fashion designer and her husband, whose Major League Soccer franchise Fútbol Miami is due to enter the league in 2020. David has just returned to London after spending almost a week in Miami, and we’re told he will be heading back very soon – and will most likely be spending the majority of his time there, with his family flying over to visit him in the school holidays.
“Vic and the kids miss him so much when he’s not at home – he’s always travelled a lot, but now they’ve got to deal with him being away more,” says the insider. “It’s the start of a whole new life without David for all of them, and Victoria is wondering how they’re going to cope, but there’s nothing she can do – Vic’s fashion label is based in London and the kids go to school there. She has to accept they’ll be living more separate lives for the next few years, and naturally, she’s concerned about the impact it will have on their marriage and family.”
The source says this realisation comes after David, 43, was spotted living it up in Miami during his work trip last week. He was seen partying at celebrity haunt Rockwell with “a large group of friends”, according to US reports. He posed for selfies with young women while out at dinner, and onlookers claimed, “The group tried to blend in and keep it low-key — but everyone knew that Beckham was there. The tables next to him were trying to get a glimpse of the soccer stud.” And we’re told this is exactly the kind of story that’s likely to bother VB, 44. “She sometimes gets upset when
David is away, especially when she sees what fun he’s having,” says the insider. “Of course she can feel left out and resentful, and it causes a bit of tension between them. She also worries about rumours that might come up, with him being away and going out partying. He’s always pictured with lots of different women, which can lead to headlines about their marriage being in trouble. Obviously, she trusts him, but she knows how these girls can sometimes behave around him. She’s dealt with all this before and it can really play on her mind. And Miami is such a party town – she knows David likes to go out and enjoy himself.”
The club where David was seen is the same one he reportedly visited in January, when he announced his big move stateside and confirmed his wife will remain “at home with the kids”. He also admitted the move wouldn’t be easy, saying, “[The family have] been through the good times and the bad times and I owe them everything.” During that trip, David had two big nights out in a row, first partying at the Komodo in Brickell restaurant and then at the Rockwell until 5am following night, which led to headlines about him checking out a “brunette”.

in 2003, when he was accused of cheating with his PA Rebecca Loos. Although the former England captain has always denied the affair, calling the stories “ludicrous”, VB later admitted it was “a really tough time” for them and “hard for our entire families. But I realised a lot of people have their price.”
The insider adds, “Vic was so hurt and humiliated by the rumours last time – she’s just terrified of going through it all again.”
While David partied in Miami, back at home, Victoria made it clear she was missing her husband. The former Spice Girls singer posted a series of sweet family shots to Instagram and added a group photo featuring all four of their children, Brooklyn, 19, Romeo, 15, Cruz, 13, and Harper, six – as well as her parents – captioning it, “Pub lunch in the sunshine x We love and miss u.”
heat has previously reported on VB’S concerns over David moving so far away, and she recently confirmed she has ruled out moving to Miami herself. But insiders say David is still hopeful she might change her mind. “He wants her to join him,” we’re told. “But she isn’t keen on the idea, because her life is based in London and she doesn’t see why she should have to uproot the family again for his career. In an ideal world, they’d all settle in London for good, but she knows that can’t happen right now. This is David’s dream, and of course she supports that – she’s just hoping the distance won’t come between them or damage their marriage too much this time.”
