Justin Theroux’s midlife crisis is still in full swing
Well, if the biker boots fit…
Leather jackets, motorcycles and biker boots: Justin Theroux has long been the poster boy for the male midlife crisis. But it seems the 46 year old has really upped his commitment to the cause recently, hitting the town with a string of women half his age – including actress Emma Stone. And, according to insiders, the actor’s affection for hanging out with the young ’uns – which was partly to blame for the breakdown of his marriage to Jennifer Aniston late last year – is showing no signs of waning.
“Justin has been living the dream bachelor life and making things hard for Jen since the split,” a source close to the actor tells heat. “This was the crux of why they broke up – his partying with women who just got younger and younger. Despite what they want us to believe, they don’t seem to be on friendly terms and she feels let down by him, like he broke their agreement to show that everything was good between them.”
Last week, the actor was pictured leaving the Met Gala in New York with 29-year-old Emma, having been previously spotted together earlier in the week on a sushi date. They were later joined at an after-party by actress Alicia Vikander, 29. Meanwhile, Justin’s rumoured romance with 25-year-old artist Petra Collins is showing no signs of slowing down – he
was pictured with her twice last week. And in a move that’ll no doubt annoy Jen, one of those dates also included hanging out with Petra’s pal Selena Gomez, 25 – who’s previously described Jen as a good friend and mentor. Oh, and actor Paul Rudd was there too – yep, the same Paul who’s been a close friend of Jen for more than 20 years. Ouch.
“Justin’s acting like a 20-something guy,” our source tells us. “When he hooked up with Jen, his profile was raised. Then he got his role in The Leftovers and he started getting invited to more parties and met all these young, artsy types. But what he doesn’t see is how cringey it looks, a guy of his age hanging out with a flock of 25-year-old girls.”
