Cheryl is left humiliated by Ashley’s sordid exploits
Sordid revelations have brought up bad memories
Cheryl’s WAG days may seem like a million years ago, but it doesn’t stop them coming back to haunt her on a regular basis. Friends say the singer has been left humiliated after an explosive new book revealed the sordid sexploits of her ex-husband, footballer Ashley Cole – including the shocking allegation that he had a girlfriend while he was dating Cheryl.
Former Arsenal footballer Jermaine Pennant has made the claims about his former teammate and flatmate in his autobiography, Mental. Jermaine describes how Ashley and Cheryl – who went on to marry in 2006, before divorcing four years later amid multiple claims of infidelity – first met outside the north London apartment block where they both lived back in 2004. They began dating, but Jermaine says Ashley, now 37, wasn’t exactly single. Jermaine writes, “One day, Cheryl was round his place with him. The door was locked from the inside. He’d kept the key in the lock, so no one could get in. His girlfriend at the time had a key. She was trying to get in, calling him, going mad because she knew someone was in there. She was calling all the lads. We were ignoring her calls, we knew what was going down.”
There’s no suggestion the Geordie star knew about the girlfriend, as Jermaine adds, “Cheryl and Ashley inside were probably looking at each other thinking, ‘What’s going on?’”
Jermaine – who is reportedly appearing on the new series of
Celebrity Big Brother – also detailed the seedy sex games he, Ashley and other footballers played, including something called “Monopoly”. They would rate women and then pay each other “rent” for sex with them. They would also have threesomes and Jermaine detailed one incident where Ashley “highfived” him over a woman’s back.
It’s the latest in a series of embarrassing ex-based revelations for the former Girls Aloud star, who began filming BBC1 talent show The Greatest
Dancer last week. The mum to one-year-old Bear split from her baby daddy, Liam Payne, 24, in July and is said to be mortified at him reportedly moving on quickly with model Cairo Dwek.
And, as heat told you last week, drama unfolded between Liam and Cheryl’s second husband, Jean-bernard Fernandez-versini, when they came face-to-face in Monaco.
It’s enough to make a girl swear off men for good.
