Coleen is having second thoughts about her move to the US with Wayne

Is she ready to give up everything for Wayne?

After the year Coleen Rooney has had, who could blame her for second-guessing a few decisions? And this is a big one – giving up her WAG life in the UK to move to America, so her husband Wayne can continue his football career. In fact, after a weekend spent with friends and family back in the UK, heat can reveal she is in full-blown crisis mode.

“Saying goodbye to all her friends only made Coleen realise how much she’s going to miss having everyone around her,” says an insider. “She’s worried she’ll be lonely in Washington while Wayne is playing football and the kids are at school. Her parents will fly out, but it already feels like a whole new life and that’s terrifying for her. She’s only ever lived in the UK and never more than an hour away from her family and friends. Of course, she’s invited everyone out to visit her, but so far no one has made any firm plans.”

Wayne has been in the US for over a month, and last week Coleen, 32, flew out to visit with eldest son Kai, eight, where they took in some of the sights and we’re told the footballer did his best to convince her what an amazing time they’ll have.

When the news of Wayne’s threeand-a-half-year contract broke, Coleen tweeted, “Wishing our daddy and my Wayne all the luck, happiness and success in America!!! It’s a move we are going to do as a family.” But friends say since then, serious doubts have crept in. “Coleen’s trying to put a brave face on things, but she’s really worried she’ll miss her friends and family desperately,” our source continues. The move comes after a tough time for the couple, who are also parents to Klay, five, Kit, two, and four-monthold Cass. In September, Wayne was arrested for drink-driving while in the car with Laura Simpson, a woman he’d met in a club earlier that night. Coleen – who has been married to the former England star for ten years – later admitted, “I’m not saying everything is fine and forgotten about, but we’re as good as we can be at this point.” She also credited the “good support network around me” for helping them – a support network she’s leaving behind.

The source adds, “Wayne wants to draw a line under everything that’s happened and thinks Washington is the place to do it. Coleen doesn’t want to disappoint him, but so far she’s not sure. She’s under so much pressure to make it a success, but deep down she’s not convinced this is the right move.” ■
