Katie’s ex-husband has offered an olive branch
Katie Price seems to be stuck in a downward spiral and in dire need of someone to help her at the moment. After the collapse of her third marriage, she’s reportedly teetering on the edge of bankruptcy and is considering selling her £2million home to try to pay off her debts. And while the mum of five has described new man Kris Boyson as her rock during these tough times, there seems to be only one person who can really sort her life out. Enter Peter Andre, her first husband and father to Junior, 13, and Princess, 11. We’re told he is intent on helping and has been offering her advice. “What Peter sees is the mother of his kids going through a crisis,” an insider tells heat. “He’s wanted to talk to her for a long time now.”
While the couple’s two children have spent the odd day with Katie, they have been living with Pete and his wife Emily since May, after he became concerned about his ex-wife’s wild behaviour. It was reported that she had taken cocaine to “numb the pain” of her divorce from Kieran Hayler, and she was also pictured driving her two youngest children home from Gatwick Airport, even though she is currently banned for speeding.
While all of this had driven a wedge between her and Pete, our insider says that he feels he has to step up. We’re told, “Katie’s situation seems to be rapidly going from bad to worse and Pete feels it’s only right that he should intervene. He’s just trying to offer her some gentle advice to help her get her life back on track.”
But as Pete has a whole new life with doctor wife Emily, 28, and their children, Amelia, four, and 21-month-old Theo, we’re told his decision to help Katie may be causing some tension at home. “He has tried to tell Emily that there’s no other way around it. But Emily can’t help but feel that Katie enjoys causing all these problems,” says our source. “Pete feels torn – even after everything he has been through with Katie, he still has a fondness for her.”
Katie, 40, has been going to increasingly desperate lengths to make cash – as heat reported, she’s even considering making a sex tape. Having blown her £45million fortune, last week she narrowly avoided being declared bankrupt. Instead, the High Court has given her and her team three months to come up with a plan to pay off more than £250k worth of debt.
The insider adds, “At first, Katie was really annoyed that Pete got in touch, as she blames him for a lot that has gone wrong in her life. But now she’s happy that he still cares, and she’s welcomed hearing from him.”
