Given everything we’ve seen and heard about Kanye West these past couple of years, this really shouldn’t surprise us much – but it totally does. After Kim Kardashian was spotted out in her Spanx again recently, insiders tell heat she’s not the only one in her household who’s passionate about the figure-shaping underwear. In fact, we’re told her rapper husband is so obsessed, he’s been raiding his wife’s underwear drawer whenever he’s feeling bloated…
“Kanye doesn’t diet, he just wears Kim’s Spanx to hold his gut in,” says an insider close to the couple, who’ve been married since 2015 and have children North, Saint and Chicago together. “It’s been a godsend for him. He hates exercise and is always stuffing his face with ice cream and junk food. He says Spanx smooth out his unflattering areas and give him a svelte physique. They took some getting used to – they’re not the most comfortable of garments and getting them on and off took a lot of practise. But he says it’s worth the effort, as they’ve literally taken inches off his waist. He can wear clothes he hasn’t worn in years.”
We know Kim, 37, loves her Spanx. In fact, she’s admitted to wearing multiple pairs at once, revealing, “Sometimes I wear two pairs of body shapers on top of each other – especially when I am heavier, I def double it up… They really hold you in and make you feel secure!” And she’s still a dedicated fan, despite her current gruelling exercise regiment that sees her at the gym six days a week. But friends say Kanye, 41, on the other hand, is not so interested in sweating it out. We’re told, “He doesn’t put hours in the gym, lifting weights or doing squats and lunges, and he eats what he wants. Kim thinks it’s kind of amusing and teases him about it. She doesn’t mind that he wears her Spanx.”
Actually, the only part the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has put her foot down about is her husband stealing her pants. “Kim started complaining that he was messing up her drawers,” says the insider. “So Kanye’s started bulk-ordering his own Spanx online. He now has bodysuits, crew-necked undershirts and trunks. He loves how stylish they make him feel and it’s helped bring his confidence back.” Er, good for you? ■
