Scarlett: ‘I’m having fun again’

The best thing about a family holiday is when your parents pay for everything. The second best thing is that you can totally relax and have fun without worrying how you look. See: Scarlett Moffatt in Cyprus with her mum, dad and little sister, wearing what fans playfully described as a gingham “quilt cover”. But friends say the TV star – who’s been open about gaining weight in recent months – truly doesn’t care. And while she’s planning to get back to the gym soon, for now, she’s fully embracing her curvier look.
“Scarlett is having a great time at the moment and her weight is the last thing on her mind,” says heat’s insider close to the 28-year-old former Gogglebox star. “She was in Cyprus for a family wedding and feeling very relaxed. She’s sick of getting upset over troll comments or worrying what people think. She had a horrible couple of months breaking up with Lee, and it made her want to concentrate on enjoying herself.”
The I’m A Celeb winner split from her personal trainer boyfriend Lee Wilkinson in April, branding him a “lying cheat”. She has since opened up on social media about struggling with her self-image, admitting, “I feel like I can’t even film TV shows without hating the way that I look after, as I’m constantly being attacked because of my size and my appearance.” The presenter previously lost 3st ahead of releasing fitness DVD Superslim Me Plan, and later admitted she’d had a “horrid experience”, as she was forced to attend a boot camp.
But friends say she hasn’t been put off the gym forever. In fact, Scarlett recently confirmed she’s planning to start her exercise routine again, posting throwback pictures of herself and writing, “Motivation where are you?”
But this time round, she’s planning on a more sensible approach. “Once her summer of fun is over, Scarlett is getting back to eating healthier and exercising more,” says the source. “Yes, she would like to shape up, but she’s not interested in going to extremes like she did before. She just wants to feel sexy and get back into her smaller clothes in time for filming the I’m A Celeb spinoff Extra Camp this autumn.”
