Liam has upset Noel for a final time
It’s the reunion we’ve been waiting and hoping for since 2009 – but now insiders say Oasis could be done for good. Noel Gallagher is said to be “disgusted” with his brother, Liam after a shocking incident involving the singer’s partner .
Last week, video footage emerged that appeared to show Liam, 45, pushing his girlfriend, Debbie Gwyther, 36, down a corridor at London’s Chiltern Firehouse club, before grabbing her by the throat. In a video interview last week, a bouncer, said, “He basically grabbed her by the neck. He saw me, he released his hand from her and I escorted him [out]… He was saying it was all her fault and she’s a witch.”
The musician has denied the allegations, saying, “I have never put my hands on any woman in a vicious manner,” but insiders say it’s ruined any chance of the rumoured – and very lucrative – Oasis reunion, set for next year. The band split acrimoniously in August 2009 with Noel, 51, writing on the band’s website, “I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.” And, after years of ups and downs, friends say this footage is the last straw for their relationship. The brothers have been open about their own abusive father, Tommy, with Liam revealing last year, “I was about seven when my mam left my dad. He was out all the time, fighting, beating my mam up.”
Sources close to Noel confirmed he was “stunned that, after all the lads went through as kids, that [Liam] could strike a woman like that”, adding that there was now “no chance” of a reunion.
