Celebrity baby gender REVEALS
Because telling everyone in a group text is too damn basic
W e believe a new law may have been passed that requires all celebs to brainstorm, plan, and arrange some form of extravagant party/ event/stunt to announce the gender of their unborn child. And they all seem happy to comply.
Whether it’s the traditional cake reveal – with pink or blue sponge giving the game away – or getting the Red Arrows to write it in the sky (this one is yet to happen, but give it time), you can be sure that our favourite famous mamas and papas will document the whole thing on social media. So, we’ve played stork and gathered them up in a little bundle for you.
KATE HUDSON
The 39-year-old actress shocked us all with pregnancy news and a gender reveal all in one. Kate took to Insta to tell us she was expecting a baby with partner Danny Fujikawa. They went with the traditional balloon popping to tell us all a little girl was on the way. Rani (pronounced Ronnie) Rose was born on 2 October.
HILARIA BALDWIN
Hilaria and husband Alec got their three kids involved to reveal the sex of their fourth child by cutting into a “magic cake” . Spoiler alert – it’s not magic, it’s the same as any other gender reveal sponge. One-yearold Leonardo was more interested in stuffing his face than discovering he had a baby brother in the pipeline.
BILLIE FAIERS
Yep, you guessed it, another cake reveal. We need some originality, people. Then aged 23, Billie announced that she was having a daughter at her engagement party, which also happened to be the series 11 premiere of TOWIE. The joy that is Nelly was born in July 2014.
JESSICA ALBA
One way to ensure your baby gender reveal is extra cute is by including your adorable daughters. Jessica – with Honor, ten, and Haven, seven – announced she was expecting a boy by releasing a whole bunch of blue glitter, streamers and balloons out of an “Honest” box. Which happens to be Alba’s company… subtle. Baby Hayes was born on New Year’s Eve 2017.
HEIDI PRATT
They might be a super-annoying couple, but we’re actually quite impressed with Heidi and Spencer’s water gun effort. The two Pratted about on the beach, shooting each other with blue-dyed water to reveal the gender of now one-yearold son Gunner.
BINKY FELSTEAD
BFF Ollie Locke planned a whole gender reveal party for Binky and Joshua “JP” Patterson and invited all their best mates to bet if they’d be buying little blue loafers or little pink pumps… or whatever genderneutral shoes are (21st century y’all). JP and Binks welcomed daughter India in June 2017.
MALIN ANDERSSON
The 2016 Love Island star may or may not be with the father of her child, Tom Kemp, but that didn’t stop the pair celebrating their baby-to-be at a glitzy party. Malin, 25, cut into a mouth-watering cake to reveal pink inside. She even had a pink teddy bear made of roses to celebrate her future little girl.
HILARY DUFF
After having a little boy with her ex, Mike Comrie, Hilary literally jumped for joy when she found out she was expecting a girl with new man Matthew Koma. The actress had a full-on part-ay to find out the news – firing pink dust and confetti into the air.
JESSICA SIMPSON
Jess and her EX-NFL player husband Eric Johnson are thrilled to be expecting their third child. They already have daughter Maxwell Drew, six, and son Ace Knute, five, but they “couldn’t be happier” to be welcoming another little girl – as demonstrated by their pink-balloon Insta post.
TORI SPELLING
Adding a fifth child to their brood, Tori Spelling and husband Dean Mcdermott got all of their kids involved in their festive gender reveal. A Christmas tree was decorated top-to-toe in blue baubles, candy canes and tinsel for the discovery and their bouncing baby Beau was born last March.
