After a sellout residency in Las Vegas and a worldwide tour, Britney Spears is ready for her next adventure… another baby. Rumour has it the pop princess has secretly got engaged to boyfriend Sam Asghari – after being pictured with a band on her ring finger – and now the couple are planning to add to their family. But this time Britney, who already has two sons, has decided to use a surrogate – as well as sex selection.
“She’s already found a woman close to her family home in Louisiana, who is willing to carry a baby for her. It’s something Britney has been thinking about for months,” our source says. “After having two sons, she is desperate for a daughter and has been looking into gender selection IVF treatments.”
Brit has Sean, 13, and Jayden, 12, with her ex, Kevin Federline, and has made no secret of the fact she would love a daughter to complete her family. The singer is said to want to go down the surrogacy route to make sure she can look after herself and her baby as best she can this time, as she was so unwell when her boys were young, with her 2007 breakdown reportedly being triggered by her battle with postnatal depression.
“Britney worries about the emotional roller coaster that being pregnant for nine months would bring, especially after her past psychological issues,” we’re told. “Britney is feeling good mentally these days, but she doesn’t want to leave anything up to chance and everyone around her thinks a surrogate is the best option.”
Britney has been dating model and personal trainer Sam, 24, (above) for almost two years now after meeting on the set of her music video for Slumber Party.
“They are very happy together and Britney likes that their relationship is drama-free,” says the source. “He is great with her sons and he’s reliable. There may be a big age gap between them, but Sam is mature beyond his years. Importantly, Britney’s family like him too – even her dad, who has had strict control of her life since her breakdown.”
