Vicky & John: ‘Their relationship is hanging by a thread’

They’re hoping a holiday can save their romance

Awhirlwind trip to Dubai sounds like the romantic dream, but for Vicky Pattison and fiancé John Noble, it’s more of a make or break holiday. The couple – who got engaged in July 2017 – jetted off to Dubai last week and less than 24 hours into their trip Vicky posted an Instagram of the pair with the caption, “I can’t promise you a perfect relationship, but what I can promise you is if you’re trying, I’m staying”.

It has been reported that the pair have not been on speaking terms recently, as businessman John is tired of 30-year-old Vicky putting her work and friends first. “Vicky and John’s relationship is hanging by the thinnest of threads, but they both think what they’ve got is worth fighting for,” a source said. “It’s been causing massive rows and John has warned her that if she doesn’t start making him a priority over her friends and work, it’s over. She asked him to join her in Dubai, where she’s out working at the moment, to talk things through, but there’s a lot to fix at the minute.”

The Geordie couple had dated for a few months when Vicky was 20, before getting together properly eight years later. The source added, “When they first rekindled their flame two years ago, John was exactly the kind of stable man Vicky wanted, but as time’s gone on, she’s found it harder to commit to a quiet life up North, when all her mates are still down here in London.”

Speaking to heat last month Vicky admitted that working in London and sharing a house with John in Newcastle had been getting her down, saying, “I’ve spoken really openly about feeling a bit lost and how I don’t know if it was everything I’d hoped it would be.” She also confessed that both she and John had been so busy they hadn’t been able to see each other as much as they’d hoped to.

Before her holiday, Vicky had also been posting a series of cryptic messages online. Filming where she’d spilt wine on herself, she labelled the video, “I am pretty sure this is what a breakdown looks like,” and then posted a quote saying, “I’m going to make a very beautiful life for myself no matter what it takes.”

The couple had originally planned to get married this year, but Vicky spoke openly about postponing the wedding and said she wasn’t “ready to be a wife yet”. They are still yet to set a date and are now said to be taking this time to re-evaluate their future.

If Vicky’s Insta Stories from Dubai are anything to go by – she called John an “ignorant prick”, a “helmet” and a “wanker” in just the first 24 hours – their future might not be together at all.
