She’s ready to dance on ice

Walking the red carpet at the ITV Palooza with beau James “Arg” Argent last week, Gemma Collins dazzled in a sequinned mini dress, and is going all-out to transform herself with the skating competition Dancing On Ice.

The TOWIE star recently opened up about her new strict diet and training regime. “I’m loving life at the minute, despite reports,” she said. “No one thinks I can skate, but I can. I’m having great fun. It is challenging, it is exhausting, but we’ve all got to start somewhere. I’m not as fit as the others, but you sweat so much around the ice. I’ve had no injuries yet, but I have fallen a couple of times – but any fall isn’t going to beat what happened at the Teen Awards. If I can fall down a trapdoor, I’m not frightened of falling on the ice.”

Gemma, 37, recently said that she had decided to do the show “for the amazing outfits and as a way of losing weight”. She spoke about wanting to get married in the next few years and said, “I don’t want to be fat for my wedding day. If I commit myself to training and eating well, I think I could really get in shape by doing the show.” Despite originally claiming she wanted to lose a whopping “six stone” on the show, Gemma said at the ITV gala that she is currently wearing a size 24 and is aiming to get down to a size 22.

After leaving the event, Gemma and Arg made a pitstop at a curry house in east London on their way home. And while Arg tucked into some deliciouslooking Indian food, The GC told her Instagram followers, “I’m on a very, very strict diet for Dancing On Ice. It’s literally meat and salad, meat and salad, meat and salad for me.” Arg , 30, has said how proud he is of his girlfriend for taking part in the competition, recently posting on Instagram, “She is working so bloody hard and giving it her everything in training! She’s not a quitter, she’s gonna prove certain doubters wrong and I can’t wait! #proud #reality queen.” n
