You’re never supposed to upstage the bride at a wedding, but if you turn up in a wedding dress to a birthday party, does that count? In 2004, Mariah Carey rocked up to P Diddy’s 35th birthday bash in what can only be described as an actual Cinderella ball gown. We can kind of forgive her, though, because the party had a “Royal Birthday Ball” theme, plus, well, she is professional diva Mariah Carey at the end of the day.
At what was probably one of the wildest parties we have ever not been invited to, a whole host of A-listers twerked alongside Mariah before twerking was even a thing. Kanye West, Usher and Jay-z partied with all of the IT girls of the noughties, including Paris Hilton, Naomi Campbell and Tara Reid. And, as we all know, it was after this party that Mariah became very humble and never did anything diva-ish ever again…
