Lisa Armstrong is moving on from Ant and planning a baby
The make-up artist wants to move on with her life
After what was probably the toughest year she’s ever experienced, heat can reveal Lisa Armstrong is now feeling positive and wanting to get on with her life – and that means finally getting her baby dream. “She is ready to move on, especially as Ant is with Anne-marie,” says our insider. “She’s been through hell these past 18 months – she just wants this year to be over with, so she can concentrate on her future.”
The friend continues, “She really wants to become a mum, and was very upset that she and Ant never had kids. But she doesn’t see why she still can’t do it on her own. She’s only just turned 43 and lots of women are having babies later in life. She just thinks, ‘Why not?’ Obviously, she would love to find a man to settle down with and have a family, but she’s prepared to have a child on her own as well. She’s not obsessive about it or anything, but she doesn’t want any regrets, so she maybe wants to try next year.”
The make-up artist – who celebrated her birthday last week in spectacular fashion – was married to Ant Mcpartlin for 11 years, before separating in January this year. As recently as February 2017, Ant admitted, “We would love to have a family, so fingers crossed. If we’re blessed with children, then we’d be over the moon.”
The couple’s divorce was finalised a couple of weeks ago in a 30-second hearing. The divorce was granted on the grounds of adultery, as Ant and new girlfriend Anne-marie had begun their relationship while Ant was technically still married to Lisa. And now, as Ant and Anne-marie’s relationship looks like it’s becoming more and more serious, we’re told Lisa is concerned about what that means for her. “She’s so worried about the possibility of Ant having a baby with Anne-marie,” says the source. “She feels like she’d be able to cope better if she is also following her dream. She has such a strong support network around her and knows she could be a mum on her own if she had to.”
Lisa is currently busy working as a make-up artist on Strictly, but our source tells us she’s keen to head back to LA in the new year. The 43 year old spent time out there this summer with her good friend Craig Young.
“Once Strictly is over, she’s going to re-evaluate her life,” the source adds. “She’s planning another trip to LA, as she felt so good when she went out there in the summer. It really gave her inspiration.”
