They’re both rushing down the aisle
When you’re super-hot supermodel sisters, life is bound to get competitive. But things are more intense than usual between Gigi and Bella Hadid as they both race towards weddings with their on/off boyfriends. And despite friends and family begging them not to rush into anything, insiders say the pair are dropping hints of big days with their bad boys as soon as next year.
“Gigi and Bella have always clashed when it comes to their careers – and now they’re battling over relationship milestones,” says an insider close to the sisters, who are dating singers Zayn Malik and The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye). “They love each other, of course, but they also like to win. So, now they’re competing to see who can lock things down with their boyfriend first. Gigi’s talking about eloping with Zayn next year, while Bella’s got her heart set on a big wedding with loads of celeb guests. They would both feel very put out if the other managed to walk down the aisle first.”
Bella, 22, and Gigi, 23, have endured rocky romances with their respective blokes. Bella and Abel, 28, recently moved in together after reuniting in April. They previously dated for a yearand-a-half before splitting in November 2016. Abel went on to date Bella’s friend Selena Gomez for ten months (awks), but two weeks after they ended things in October last year, the Starboy singer was seen leaving Bella’s apartment and the couple are now reportedly secretly engaged. Gigi, meanwhile, dated former One Direction star Zayn for two-and-a-half years before they split in March. They continued to hook up, with Zayn, 25, saying, “We’re adults. We don’t need to put a label on it”.
And with such a mutually on/off history, friends are worried this particular contest isn’t the healthiest. “People are concerned, especially given the tumultuous times they’ve both had,” says
heat’s source. “Bella and Gigi’s mum Yolanda has tried to tell them they need to wait, but they don’t seem to want to listen. Gigi has always said she wanted to marry Zayn, and she believes that marriage would be really good for him. She thinks it could help him with his issues and give him some stability. Bella also thinks that if she and Abel were married, he would change his partying lifestyle and their relationship would stand a better chance of survival. Both of them are acting like they’ve got something to prove, and nothing anyone says is going to stop them.”
