Cheryl’s back on the pop scene with her new single – and a new face!

Don’t even try it, lads – she ain’t interested

She hurled herself back into the spotlight last week, officially ending her hiatus from public life. But while Cheryl made a splash with the release of her comeback single Love Made Me Do It, as well as a series of revelatory interviews, she’s keeping it strictly professional this time.

Yes, we’re sorry to tell all would-be Chezza romancers out there that the 35 year old is resolutely single and in no mood to mingle, because she already has her Prince Charming. And at 20 months old, roughly 2.5ft tall, and with a bountiful head of bonnie curls, there’s just no competition.

The singer adamantly declared that she was – now and forever – off the dating market last week, while appearing on Jessie Ware’s podcast Table Manners. Acknowledging her string of failed relationships, including two divorces and her split from her baby daddy Liam Payne in July, Cheryl insisted that her son Bear was the only man for her.

“I know what I want in life, but in the romantic area, I’m not as evolved,” she revealed. “That area has stopped. It’s not happening any more, it’s the end.” And when Jessie protested on behalf of the male race, Chezza proudly replied, “I’ve got the man in my life now,” in reference to her beloved Bear.

It was perhaps surprising that Cheryl hit the promo circuit so willingly last week, given that she’s spent over two years dodging all press and furiously shielding her son from public view. In fact, since becoming a mum, she’s only been pictured with Bear once, outside BFF Kimberley Walsh’s home in September and – unlike Liam – Cheryl has remained

resolutely tight-lipped about motherhood. But speaking to Jessie and Jessie’s mum Helena, who co-hosts the podcast, she revealed all about her mum life in Surrey, insisting that she wants her son to have a normal childhood. “I’ve had the luxury to have the time, to have a year out with my son. I do like the quiet,” she said, describing low-key days where they go out to feed the ducks together.

“I like the balance, to be honest. I just like the peace and harmony in my life, I like to be able to step away.”

But, she added, she’s still working on “the juggling” of being a working mum. “It’s a lot of adjusting,” she said. “I refused to get help with him until he was 16 months old. It didn’t feel natural for me. If there’s anything I need outside the hours of nine to six, I call my mum, who comes down from Newcastle, and say I need her for two nights. Or Liam’s parents are good.”

Speaking of Liam, 25, the former Girls Aloud singer was quick to stress that her comeback single was NOT a diss track to her ex, who she broke up with in July. Despite featuring the line, “Oh my God, I’m such a sucker,

I fall in love with every f**ker ,” she said, “All the music and all the songs that I’ve got ready were done before we split – none of them are about anybody. It’s something that anyone who’s been in love will be able to relate to in some way or another. It’s not about a specific person or relationship.” Liam was also quick to congratulate Chez on her single hitting the top of the itunes chart.

And just like that, she was back in the game. But remember, gents, she ain’t buying what you’re selling – not when she’s got her top boy at home.

“When I walk through the door, the excitement from his head to his toes is just the best,” she gushed. “He’s the man of my dreams.”
