Pret a Manger very Merry christmas Lunch sandwich £3.50

(donates 50p to charity) With grilled carrots, crispy onions, vegan stuffing and a fancy port & orange cranberry sauce, this is surprisingly good. The caramelised pecans give it a nice bit of crunch, too.

asda turkey & trimmings sandwich £2

This has a nice peppery kick, with turkey, stuffing, pigs in blankets and a delicate serving of cranberry sauce. There’s no salad, but who needs that at Christmas?

sainsbury’s the Big Beef £3

There’s a whole Yorkshire pudding in here, plus medium-rare beef, cheese fondue sauce, gravy mayo and spinach. It’s tricky to eat, but well worth the effort.

M&s Made without wheat Brie & Grape £3.30

Like a fancy cheeseboard on seeded bread, this has Brie, red grapes, ruby port chutney, mayo and lettuce. Deliciously different.

starbucks Brie & cranberry Focaccia £4.25

Rosemary-topped warm focaccia, melted Brie and balsamic-roasted red onions make this a winning winter warmer. Delicious.

M&s Prawn & smoked salmon cocktail £3.30

(donates five per cent to shelter) Looks less than amazing, but the cranberry-studded bread is special. They’ve scrimped on the filling, but this would be a fab festive hangover cure.

Morrisons the Best turkey Lunch £2.10

Turkey, stuffing, fresh spinach leaves and just enough cranberry sauce on tasty white bread – this is perfectly pitched.
