Just looking through Mark Wright’s Instagram page, it’s pretty obvious he’s ready to be a dad. But with him and wife Michelle Keegan appearing to lead increasingly separate lives, they don’t seem to be in the best place at the moment. However, friends have told heat he wants them to start a family as soon as possible, as he thinks it will help strengthen their marriage.

Mark, 31, is contracted to co-host entertainment show Extra in the US for another year, and recently flew to South Africa to film the UK series of The

Bachelor. And while he squeezed in a trip home to Essex last month and was also seen out with Michelle in the UK last week, our insider tells us it’s hardly been a love-fest for the couple.

We’re told, “They’ve struggled to get that spark back between them, and Michelle’s friends fear it’s about them disagreeing over when to have kids. Michelle feels as though she can’t commit to it now, as she’s about to start taking on loads of new acting projects. Mark has laid his cards on the table

and told Michelle that he doesn’t think they should wait. Mark would be happy for Michelle to be a stay-at-home mum with a load of kids while she’s just not there yet, and certainly doesn’t want to give up her career.” Family has always been important to Mark – most recently, he dedicated an Instagram post to his baby cousin Bernie on his birthday, but we’re told Michelle, 31, sees things a bit differently. “It seems as though they are in completely different places at all times – and not just geographically,” our source explains. “Neither of them feels as though what they have is considered a traditional marriage. It goes back to the classic battle of whose career should take priority. Mark comes from a very traditional family and would like Michelle to be with any children they have while they are young.

“Obviously, he wouldn’t stop her working, but he would be happy to provide for his family while she took some time out. But Michelle doesn’t see it that way, and she has even suggested that Mark could be the one who takes time off to look after their first child, but he’s not having any of it.”

The insider adds, “Both of them are obsessed with their careers and feel like they’re in their prime right now. They can see that they could drift apart, but neither of them have been able to come up with a solution.”
