How are you feeling after a difficult couple of weeks?
Everything that has happened was really tough – I didn’t even know how I’d get through it – but I’ve had so much support from Simon and all the X Factor team and contestants. Simon sent gifts and he’s helped my family so much. I want to make sure I deliver the best performances now to make him proud, because he’s definitely made me proud.
And you’ve been chatting to Jesy from Little Mix…
Yes! She messaged me privately and said, “Baby girl , you’re smashing it, I’m so proud of you. If you ever feel down, then text me.” She sent me her number and now we just talk all the time! I tell her about my song choices and she tells me what I should improve on.
Wow! Have you had any other celebs reach out?
I’ve had a few. I spoke to Ferne Mccann on Facetime the other day, because she’s a big fan. And Cara de la Hoyde from
Love Island said when she gets married, she wants me to sing at her wedding! The support is crazy. When I went home the other day, everyone’s got these massive posters of my head in the window I was like, “Oh my God, what is that?”
Does it feel like a taste of what’s to come?
Oh, this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. I went home for a couple of days, and I felt bored. I like running about and getting woken up at 6am for filming. I want to do it forever.
