Kit Rooney gets shown the red card

A day out means nothing when you’re an unhappy toddler

-

We very rarely feel sorry for celebs – all those luxury holidays, sprawling mansions and designer threads tend to curb our sympathies. But then we see pics like these, and we’re reminded that they’re just like us, with unruly kids and all. To be fair to poor little Kit Rooney, he probably just needed a nap – but judging by these photos, he wasn’t giving beleaguered parents Wayne and Coleen any respite. So, take cover and observe from afar the force of a two year old in the throes of a full-on toddler tantrum.

The Rooney family were out en masse earlier this month, taking in the sights of their new hometown of Washington DC. But if Wayne, 33, thought he was being treated to a day off from scrappy men giving him the runaround, he was sadly mistaken, because Kit was ready for a tussle. And while the football player, who moved his family to the States earlier this summer after accepting a £300,000-a-week deal to play for Washington DC United, tried his best to control his third son, it seems it was a losing match. Even Coleen, 32, couldn’t work her mum wonders.

There’s no doubt the family of six are usually a happy unit, and their adorbs Instagram snaps tell us as much. But at the end of the day, even they are not immune to a tired, hungry or an angry-for-the-sake-of-being-angry child. And with three other sons to nurture and raise to be upstanding gents – Kai, nine, Klay, five, and Cass, eight months – it really is no surprise that they need all those Barbados holidays.

No judgment here, guys.
