Dalton chats life after winning The X Factor
Dalton Harris is having a hard time believing he’s actually the winner of The X Factor, telling us he never wants it to sink in so he can get the feels forever. But the 24 year old – who came from humble beginnings in Jamaica – is going to have to get used to it as he embarks on his new pop career. We spoke to him about The X Factor BFFS and glam trousers… Will you stay in contact with the other contestants? Definitely – I have an unanswered text from Scarlett right now. I talk to her every day, I talk to Shan every day – me and Shan are really close. I have to get Scarlett a present [for Christmas], I told her if she won, she had to buy me an iphone and that if I won I had to buy her the same thing! You seemed to have made a real friend in Louis? Definitely. He put in a lot of time and effort and hard work – not just with me, but with everyone. I mean, he only really needed to be at the house for four hours, because there were four boys allotted an hour each – but he’d be there for eight, 12 hours, all the time. have any famous ladies slid into your dms since you won? If there were someone that was in my DMS, I would definitely not mention it in public. I’m not looking for anything in the DMS! There are a lot of nice messages, though – people are sending a lot of love. As well as your amazing voice, we loved your outfits. have you always been a fan of a snazzy trouser? I wouldn’t say a fan, but this is how it happened: I’m skinny, and instead of hiding in bigger trousers I might as well show what’s already there. I like experimenting with clothes, but I’m not very gimmicky. If the music calls for [a big production] then I’ll do it, but if not then – just a pair of snazzy trousers it is!
