Ant Mcpartlin and ex-wife Lisa Armstrong square up over who gets the dog this Christmas

It’s going to be a silent night for either Ant or Lisa

Christmas is supposed to be the time for peace on Earth, but try telling that to Ant Mcpartlin and Lisa Armstrong. While the warring exes may be officially divorced, they are still battling it out in court over custody of their dog Hurley – and now there’s a new bone of contention. Who will get to celebrate Christmas Day with their beloved chocolate Labrador?

“You would think they could move on with their lives now, but they’re still clashing,” a source close to the former couple, who were married for 11 years before splitting in January, tells heat. “They’re on course to ruin one another’s Christmas, as they’ve been rowing over who gets to spend it with Hurley – there’s even talk that the pup will have to go between the two of them during the day. Ant’s girlfriend must have hoped the drama over Hurley was at an end, but Lisa is making herself part of the day whether they like it or not.”

Last week, Lisa, 42, was pictured picking up personalised Christmas cards – believed to be of Hurley – at a photo shop in London. This came a week after her ex also showed his devotion to the pooch by embracing him as he and girlfriend Anne-marie Corbett, 42, arrived back in the UK from a trip abroad. According to insiders, the TV presenter is furious that – despite issuing Lisa with a legal warning over her social media attacks towards Anne-marie – his ex-wife is “still stirring up trouble on Twitter and painting herself as the victim”.

While Lisa may be receiving part of 43-year-old Ant’s £62million fortune, the true cost for both of them has been Hurley, who they got as a puppy in 2013. Since splitting at the beginning of the year, they’ve each spent alternate weeks with him – and while it’s believed that the pooch will be spending New Year’s Eve with Ant, while Lisa vacays in LA, Christmas is a different story, with Lisa feeling Ant’s gone too far by demanding Hurley when he’s already having a perfect day with Anne-marie.

At this point, unless Santa finds a way to put the doggie in two places at once, it looks like one of them will be feeling lonely this Christmas. At least we know Hurley will be properly spoiled. ■
