Brad’s fury over Ange’s adoption plans
Because having six kids is just not enough for the star
It’s been nearly three years since Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt split up, but they still have the power to seriously piss each other off. Insiders say the actor exes have fallen out once more, as Ange is making plans to adopt again – and Brad is accusing her of using the situation to squeeze him out of his six children’s lives.
“Angelina desperately wants to have another child, and is already actively working with an adoption agency to make it happen,” says an insider close to the actress and Brad, who have been fighting over custody of their kids, Maddox, 17, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 12, and twins Knox and Vivienne, ten. “She wants a fresh start, and was
advised by one of her therapists that adopting would be a great way to move on and mark an exciting new chapter. She hasn’t ruled out the idea of having more than one, either. Ange hasn’t made her plans a secret, and is openly discussing the idea with her children, who are all thrilled at the prospect of getting another brother or sister.”
Last week, it was revealed that Brad, 55, and Ange, 43 – who split in September 2016 – had finally been granted their divorce after years spent in and out of court. The delay was down to the actress seeking sole custody, while Brad fought for shared access, but this news doesn’t mean those problems have been resolved. Californian divorce law allows parties to end the marriage while continuing to work through negotiations, and sources say there is still a lot to sort out between the stars. And friends say this adoption plan is really not helping the tension between them. “Brad’s fuming because he feels like this is just another ploy from Ange to push him further out of the picture,” says the source. “He’s scared that the adoption will
make the kids want to spend all their time with Ange, and he feels left out. The family is already changing so much, with Maddox going off to college this year, and Pax soon after that. Brad is worried about all the kids leaving him behind.”
But insiders say there’s no stopping the film star. We’re told, “Angelina has always wanted more children, but Brad put his foot down when they were together. She’s come to terms with the fact that he will end up getting some custody time with their kids, but adopting again now will mean she has something all hers that Brad has nothing to do with.
“She’s excited – it’s the new beginning she needs.” n
