The reality pro is hoping to find that special someone

‘Why did I sign up? Where do I start…’

Calum Best has had a fair few exes in his time – Sarah Harding, Lindsay Lohan, Brandi Glanville and Bianca Gascoigne, to name just a few. So, there’s no better show for the 38 year old to appear on than Celebrity Ex On The Beach. Alongside fellow reality veterans such as Joey Essex, Sophie Kasei and Georgia Harrison, Calum has been looking for love in the Marbella sunshine, and he tells us he feels lucky to still be in demand… How does it feel doing the show alongside some new Love Islanders? It was actually quite cool. I’ve been blessed in my reality TV career. I did the first Celeb Love Island in 2005 and now in 2020, I’ll be doing the first Celeb Ex On The Beach. I’m honoured that MTV – even though I’m f**king 38 – were like, “Yes, let’s have you.” The young ones in this group – someone like Ellie [Brown], who I love to bits – came from Love Island, and when she first came on, she was struggling a bit. I tried to take her under my wing and guide her in the right way. Why did you sign up to do the show? Jesus, where do I start? I’m single, I’ve done a fair few dating shows in my time and I go into them with the high hopes of, “What can this production bring to the table that I’ve not experienced before?” And they definitely brought it to the table. But on a serious note, I actually go in there hoping to find somebody. At my age, I don’t want to settle. I’m single by choice, and until somebody comes along and changes that, I’ll stay single. You have quite a few exes – were you nervous who might turn up? [Laughs.] What do you think? We were hoping for Lindsay Lohan… Listen, I’m not going to say any names, but you can say that if you want! I do know that, with my past experiences in life, they would not have an easy time bringing on exes. I was ready for all of it, I like to think with the shit I’ve been through in my life, I can handle anything that’s thrown at me. I was excited, I was slightly nervous. There’s definitely a point when you’re sat on the beach thinking, “Who the f**k is going to come out of this water who I have to manage?” n
