While some celebs feel the need to show us what they’ve had for breakfast every single day, others attempt to hold a little bit back. Rochelle and Marvin Humes had always been careful to keep daughters Alaia-mai, six, and Valentina, two, almost completely hidden from their Instagram feeds. But last week, the star couple decided to share their gorgeous girls with the world. Posting a series of pictures of their daughters, Rochelle, 30, and Marvin, 34, wrote, “We’ve made the choice to share a little bit more of our family. Alaia is aware of social media now (gulp), and she often asks why her cousins and other family are featured, but not her, and to be honest, we don’t really have the answer. Obviously, it was coming from a place of protection, maybe to a fault – let’s face it, none of us really have this figured out. So, here they are, our babies. They won’t be on here often, but thought you might like to meet them.”
A source close to the famous family told heat that posting these snaps wasn’t a rash decision. “Rochelle and Marvin are very protective of their daughters, so they didn’t take this decision lightly,” the source says. “But they know they can’t keep them protected forever and wanted to do it all on their own terms. They’re not going to show them off all the time, but the girls will be making more appearances on their Instagram pages, and there will be more family pics. Rochelle has seen her friends do it with their own kids, and they’ve been fine.”
However, we’re also told that Rochelle and Marvin would love to be able to combine work and family even more than they
already do, particularly as it was Alaia-mai who inspired Rochelle’s haircare brand Curls Like Us. “Rochelle and Marvin both have very family-friendly images and work with brands that have the same values,” we’re told. “Rochelle already has her kids hair range and would like the opportunity to work with her own children. The reaction to them has been amazing, and people are saying they could become a huge family brand like the Beckhams and make millions. That’s not why they’ve done it, though, and they would only ever do things that work for them as a family, and will still do anything they can to protect the girls.” n
