Fans were relieved when Katie Price visited rehab – but all wasn’t as it seemed

She’s still refusing to get the help she needs

‘She has no intention of slowing down the boozing’

She announced that she’d divorced Kieran Hayler last week, celebrating the fact that she was “free” and would “never give up that happy fairy-tale ending”. But Katie Price’s celebrations were dampened, as they came only days after she was pictured visiting the Priory – where she was treated in 2018 for PTSD following “drug binges”– after going on a boozy bender straight off the plane from a family trip to Spain.

While Katie’s visit to the Priory should have been a sign that the former glamour model is finally seeking the help that she needs, apparently, that wasn’t the case. Katie quickly denied speculation that she was back in rehab, telling fans that she was only there to have a psychological assessment to allow her to film her reality TV show My Crazy Life. As a result, some people accused her of “faking rehab” and cashing in on the “photo op”.

Now, we’re told her friends are more worried than ever that Katie is burying her head in the sand when it comes to sorting herself out for good. They fear the recently-bankrupt star – who last week praised Kieran for being her first ex “not wanting anything from the divorce” – is trying to give the impression she’s healthier than ever, all while refusing to actually deal with her ongoing issues.

“Katie is fooling no one when it comes to getting her life back on track,” says an insider close to the 41 year old, who has been touring the country with her Makeup Masterclass (one of which she cancelled just hours before it was due to start). “Her friends think she’s got no intention of slowing down the boozing and partying – all she cares about is getting her TV show back on air, meeting a new man and trying to earn

back all the money she lost. She keeps doing these set-up shoots to drum up interest in her life, which was what the Priory was. She had to prove to producers that she’s taking care of herself, but equally, she knew that the pictures would create a stir. The sad truth is that she doesn’t want to get help, she just wants to continue ‘living her best life’, even though it’s putting her in another downward spiral.” The mum of five has had a busy few months, especially since her bankruptcy declaration in December, losing her so-called “mucky mansion” and splitting again from her on/off fiancé Kris Boyson. As well as her extensive travels – so far this year, she’s been to Thailand, Las Vegas, the French Alps, and Spain – she’s also been working hard to raise some cash, culminating in her attempts get her reality series back on air ASAP. According to our source, the star is hell-bent on getting back her fortune, whatever the cost to her health. “Anyone can see that Katie has been showing signs of some worrying behaviour lately,” we’re told. “Somehow, she’s got the all-clear to continue filming My Crazy Life, when most people close to her think that she should be in rehab. She knows the only way to make money fast is to have the cameras following her every move and drum up as much drama as possible. She’s spending most of her time drinking or doing PAS in clubs. Her friends and family are really annoyed that she’s not getting better help. It seems that she’s surrounding herself with enablers who are letting her get away with anything – even though it hurt will her in the long run.” ■
